Tourney now underway -GreenPenInc

Since we now have a full 16 teams for the tournament, it's time to schedule those matches! Get together with your partner and your two opponents, preferrably in chat, and decide on a match time. Rounds go from Wednesday to Wednesday. Once you have your match time, post it in this thread, which also has more details about making the matches and forefeits and such. Brackets for the tournament may be found here, and this time you can expect them to be updated more regularly, as well as to contain more useful information!

Please remember to have an observer in every single game, and also remember that this observer must save the replay and email it to me as soon as the game is done. I will host the replays and a link will be provided in the details section of the bracketmaker page, along with a few comments about each game, so you might want to bookmark that as well.

2v2 Clan Tourney -- signups open! -GreenPenInc

Well, it's finally here! The signups for the long-awaited tourney have begun. The thread was posted just yesterday, and already we're almost full! So the point is this -- be sure to sign up as soon as possible, or else all the spots might fill up! Seriously, this is going to be one fun tournament, and don't forget it's for clan points.

It will be double elimination, and the teams will choose between them among 3 maps selected for each round. The maps are as follows:

Round 1 Round 2 Round 3 Final Round
Lost Temple
Tranquil Paths
Frostsabre
Scorched Basin
Legends
Dark Forest
Duskwood
Dragon Mountain
Gnoll Wood
Lost Temple
Gnoll Wood
Scorched Basin

Remember that you have to use your clan tag in these games, and that there has to be at least one W3N observer in each game. Any games played in the final round must have at least one IC observer. In all games, the observer must save the replay. I'll upload them to my webspace, or maybe I'll freeload off the W3N webspace. =) Remember guys, we need you to sign up so that we can start using our points system, and seeding future tourneys. Void where prohibited.

1.03 now out! -GreenPenInc

Sorry about the uncharacteristic lateness of this, but ever since it came out I've not done much else but play it. In short, it's awesome. I find the new Frost Armor really fun, and it's great to be able to go Mountain King again! I also like the new creeps. Chaos damage was a smart choice, and tower creeping is oh so much harder now. >=) Although, I disconnected as Undead versus an Orc who was determined to do it at all costs, after 35 minutes too... but I digress.

In more relevant clan news, the upcoming 2v2 tourney is nearing the tail end of the planning stage. Expect signups soon, and expect the tourney to start even sooner! Well, okay, that last part is necessarily false, but you should still get excited anyway because the tournament is starting soon. Grab yer partner and get practicing!

Patch 1.03 on the way! -GreenPenInc

Well folks, Blizzard has finally given us the first official word regarding the next patch. It seems it's on its way, and soon. This is brought on by the recent discovery of the "farm bug", which gives any Human player essentially infinite gold. I have replays of me versus the computer that prove its existence. On a personal note, this really bugs me, because I know that Humans are the best race and they don't need crap like this to win. Truly, this is a tragic day.

Oh, and I'm also quitting the ladder until the new patch due to this. It's really widespread now, and I want an actual game when I play, not a clicking contest. I will still be playing in-house games with my clanmates though! And what's more, I invite you, reader, to join us! We hang out in channel "clan w3n" (without the quotes :-P) in Azeroth (USEast) and we love to play with people who love the game. So enough about the depressing farm bug news, let's concentrate on the positive -- the patch is coming soon!

FAQ, Tourney Results, new IC, the kitchen sink... -GreenPenInc

Thanks to MeatMan, we now have an FAQ! Of course, since I presently don't have the facilities to modify the imagemap, this will be the only link to it for the time being. That's okay, because we presently don't have a news archive either, so everything just kind of sits on our ridiculously long homepage. Fear not citizens, for I am taking a web design course and I might even invest in Paint Shop Pro or something, so at some point here I will be able to spruce things up a bit. Maybe I'll even write a script for a sidebar so I don't have to code it for every single page. But now I'm just thinking out loud here.

In other news, congratulations are in order to the winner of our first ever clan tournament, jakobi! It was a hard-fought battle and a great game, but in the end jakobi's Frost Wyrms emerged victorious over Timeetyo's Ancients of War. Good job to all! Watch this space soon for details on an upcoming 2v2 tournament, which I am told will unequivocally rock.

Also, since I notice this page hasn't been updated in exactly one month, I should congratulate the new members of the Inner Circle. It feels a bit awkward to do this, since I am one of them. Nonetheless, congratulations are in order for the returning members -- MeatMan, GhostRaptor, GrayWar, and imaginihs -- and also, for the two new members -- Anc and GreenPenInc.

Aaand before I sign off, let me just say that I hope to update the website a wee bit more often. Basically, there will be a reason to come here other than clicking on the link to the forums. ^^

Major Update -blue_book_13

I've revamped almost everything you can click on the side menu. The Doctrine has a new passage, Number X. This passage enforces general respect for other clan members and online gamers. You can find the new passage here.

We've had 4 new members to join: Druniminas, BZK, Beast, and DashPanda, all their profiles up in the Members Section.

We've recently had a roll call and found one member inactive. Therefore, bobman has been booted from the clan.

We're currently holding a Clan 1v1 Tournament, and it is almost over. You can find the replays of all the matches to occur so far in The Downloads Section.

New Members -blue_book_13

Well... It's been a long time since the main page has been editted... But we finally have news!

We've just gained a new member, Danimoth! You can view his profile here.

About 2-3 weeks ago a passage was added to the Clan Doctrine. And today we've deleted the First Passage (Thus making the once 2nd passage now the first.) and modified the second, or now the first passage. Just click here to view the new and improved doctrine!

Clan kicks -blue_book_13

Due to inactivity, there have been 4 members booted from the clan. W3N says goodbye to kirykowicz, Heat, KithKanan, and sp3c (WoK). If they want to rejoin the clan when they're more active, they will have that opportunity.

Member Updates -blue_book_13

First, I'd like to apologize for not updating in forever. Sorry...

I've made the decision (actually, Great_Wizard wanted me to, but I was the one to agree...) to now make it known when we acquire new members. In the last two weeks we've gained three new members: PipeDreams, bobman, and KithKanan. You can find their profiles in the Members Section.

Beta And The Clan -blue_book_13

An update on who in the clan has the official beta. Great_Wizard, GhostRaptor, and Harvester are the clan members with the beta. I'd congratulate them, but I'm too jealous... :P

Clan Brood War Matches -blue_book_13

We've had weekly Brood War games for about 2 months now, but it seems that not all clan members know about it yet. We meet at 4 PM EST (9PM GMT) on Saturdays (early sunday for the people in the far east) in the channel W3N. We also meet before playing in the IRC chatroom #w3n, on the Webmaster (irc.webmaster.com) server. Hope to see more members there soon.

We'll keep you updated on just what members of the W3N clan get the betas.

Battle net forums update-Great Wizard

The battle.net forums got through a major positive update, which will hopefully improve their quality, because like Shlonglor said "Posters now need to stand behind their words". The posting is now allowed only via a registered account, and CD-KEYs are needed to be able to register one. There are (In theory, now there is only one room) the regular, general rooms where you can post with any CD-KEY, and there are specialized game rooms. In order to post in a game room, you'll have to register your account with that game's CD-KEY. Get the details on battle.net .

One last thing is that now there will be only one instance of any given name, like in any other account; therefore if you want to register your extremely original "Gandalf The-Grey" name (one space is allowed per name), you should hurry. You will get another chance though: when the forums will emerge from their current Beta state, all accounts will be wiped out.

Did you notice today's date? It's 2/2/2002! You won't have such a date for the next 1001 years, or 220 years for 2/2/2222! Enjoy the moment :-)

WarCraftIII Beta update-Great Wizard

Every Warcraft 3 fan and certainly all our guild members know that the Warcraft 3 Beta sign up is taking place here, at the Blizzard site, until Friday the 11th. I don't think that there is any need to tell all those who fit the requirements to sign up(but I did so anyway, as you see).

If anyone in our guild will be lucky enough to win the beta, we will open a special beta section at the site via which he/she/it/them will be able to share the heavenly experience of playing Warcraft 3 with the rest of us. That section will also be used to update any related beta information such as strategies and balance issues/changes, as the beta makes progress.

P.S. The staff page is updated.

Diplomacy-blue_book_13

Most people already know, but just update on our diplomacies, we've allied with THT a.k.a. Treasure Hunter Tavern. THT is led by JellyFISH, you can find their site by clicking here.

And information regarding alliances with W3N will be in our "Diplomacy" section. You can find that by clicking Diplomacy on the side menu, or by clicking here.

Clan Members Page -blue_book_13

Our clan members section has just been "constructed." I'm glad to have the opportunity to show off such a fine list. I hope that you'll see more additions to it soon.

You can find the members page completed by clicking here.

Warcraft III Beta -Great Wizard

Blizzard have annouced the Warcraft III Beta program which will include 5000 participants, all of which have to be from USA and Canada! I guess that it's good news for the americans amongst us, but I am not very pleased. They are lucky that I have seen a dream come true in the form of the LoTR movie yesterday, otherewise I suspect that Al-Qaeda would get a new member.
Good luck in the beta for the americans amongst us, and be sure to represent W3N well. Sign up here.

The Doctrine of W3N -Great Wizard

I'm glad to announce that after a long civilized discussion within the IC, and without any severe injuries (only few broken bones here and there) and with all of us retaining the majority of our teeth, the initial version of the clan's doctrine has been compiled and now posted in the doctrine section of this site (doh!). Long live the Inner Circle!

Official feature page updated -Great Wizard

I would normally leave similar game news updates to the news sites such as www.warcraftiii.net but this news bit has something to do with us directly.

The updated feature list contains a feature, which I believe is new, and it is "Improved clan support with levels of membership, home clan channels and clan ladders", which means that there will be official clan support on battle.net. This support may very well also include some sort of clan competition or alliance options and maybe even some kind of clan ladder. Good news indeed.

The address change -Great Wizard

After making the necessary arrangements, this site's address has changed to the old address of blue's temporary W3N site. Since the previous address will no longer be updated, I recommend on updating your bookmarks with this URL: http://w3nclan.tripod.com/ .

Wellcome to our new site -Great Wizard

Today, as you see, though long overdue, I finally finished, or more exactly published the new W3N site which I pretty much finished almost two months ago (and I have witnesses!). I decided to make it public domain before it's full content is finished(if there is such thing as finished on the net) because the Forums will anyway host the main functions of our clan until WarCraft3 (and maybe other, yet undecided, games) will ship or at least begin beta. Now most of the other pages are under construction and expect many updates soon but in the mean while visit our Forums.
